Proposal: Pursuant to the requirements of the above, notice is hereby given of CarlowCountyCouncil’sintention,inpartnershipwithCarlowCommunity Enterprise Centres CLG, to modify the design and layout of two previously Part 8 Approved buildings for light industrial and office use to the rear of Enterprise House on O’Brien Road, Carlow Town, County Carlow.
The proposed development provides for 2 development options - Option (A) and Option (B) as described hereunder:
Description of Development
Option A
Construction of a single storey building for light Industry use with ancillary office space of c. 915 sq. m.
Construction of a 2-storey building for office use of c. 1369 sq. m.
Associated services including signage, cycle bays, landscaping, sculpture and boundary treatment.
Or Option B
Construction of the 2-storey building for office use building only as under Option A
Associated services including signage, cycle bays, landscaping, sculpture and boundary treatment.
This Part 8 proposal relates to the redesign and modification of a previously approved Part 8 development on the site which comprised the construction of 2 no. buildings for light industrial and office use.
An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) Preliminary Examination, an Appropriate Assessment Screening, and a Waste Assessment Criteria (WAC) Report for the proposed development have been completed and are available for inspection.
The plans and particulars for the proposed development including all reports are available for inspection online at www.consult.carlow.ie or during office hours at County Offices, Athy Road, Carlow by contacting (059) 9170 346 or emailing: part8@carlowcoco.ie for a period of 4 weeks commencing on 3rd October, 2023. You can also purchase a copy of same at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy.
A submission or observation in relation to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the development would be situated, may be made, in writing, to the Planning Department, Carlow County Council, County Buildings, Athy Road, Carlow clearly marked ‘Enterprise Campus Part 8 Process’ or online at Carlow County Council’s
public consultation portal, CiviQ, at https://consult.carlow.ie/or by email to part8@carlowcoco.ie with the subject line being clearly noted as ‘Enterprise Campus Part 8 Process’, before 5.00 p.m. on 21st November, 2023.

In accordance with Article 81 and 120 of the Planning & Development Regulations 2001, as amended, Carlow County Council has concluded from a preliminary examination that there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment arising from the proposed development and an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is not required. Any person may, within 4 weeks from the date of this notice apply to An Bord Pleanála for an Environmental Impact Assessment Screening Determination as to whether the proposed development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment.
