Submission on Draft Joint Urban Local Area Plan for Carlow-Graiguecullen 2024-2030

I would like the council to consider improving the pedestrian routes from Carlow Town and Graiguecullen to Carlow Educate Together NS, by providing pedestrian crossings at the Athy Road roundabout on the N80.

At present there is no pedestrian crossing linking Carlow Educate Together National School with Carlow Town. Parents and children along with teachers and their classes must cross the busy N80 if they wish to walk from the school into town. 

The addition of a new pedestrian crossing at the Athy Road roundabout would make this route far safer for all pedestrians.
