Caibidil:

The Following are my observations and concerns with the build and renovations of the Old school house community and enterprise centre.

1]   On the proposed A2.2 Proposed Elevation East side ,New public access has been created between the building and boundary wall the stone wall boundary has been reduced in height. this creates a security and privacy issue for the residents of Phelan Street. The wall should be kept at its current height of 8 to 9 foot high using traditional building materials.

2]  Viewing the rear elevation the School bell tower incorporating chimney has been removed, this should be retained and restored and bell replaced. It is an integral and part of the heritage of the building showing visual historical interest. It gives reference to the buildings original use.

3]  On the 2.1 Proposed plans. The accessible toilet is a very limited area, and could be greatly improved by incorporating the toilet cubicle beside it into one space . This would make it fit for wheelchair users

4]   There currently is no wheelchair designated  parking space  allotted in the adjoining street.

5]  There is no reference to heating and energy supply. Solar panels on the roof would be an important and sustainable addition for the future viability of this public building. Now at this rebuild would be the most cost effective time to fit solar panels.

Main requests:

Wheelchair accessible toilets and parking.

Keeping historical features of the building.

Solar sustainable energy.

Retaining current boundary wall height.
