Carlow County Council (Creative Ireland/Arts Office) known as CCC going forward, invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for the role of:

Project Coordinator: Cruinniú na nÓg 2025

a) Project Manage & coordinate the Cruinniú na nÓg Carlow programme 2025 in collaboration with CCC.

b) Work collaboratively with community groups and service providers with a remit to support young people, to facilitate the development of a programme of activities that champions the voice of the child for Cruinniú na nÓg Carlow 2025.

Brief Project overview and rationale:

The National Day of Creativity for children and young people, Cruinniú na nÓg will take place on Saturday 7th June 2025. Cruinniú na nÓg empowers children and young people to develop their creative expression by providing opportunities for them to participate in free creative activities in their local area. It’s Ireland’s national day for children to do, make and create.

 

As part of Carlow’s Creative Ireland Programme, CCC delivers an annual programme of events for Cruinniú na nÓg.  CCC will design and deliver a targeted program for 2025, that engages directly with community groups and service providers with a remit to support children and young people, in particular those organizations that work with seldom heard children and young people.   
Special consideration will be given to those that directly meet one or more of the following:

  • Engagement with harder to reach children or marginalised group(s) or within a marginalised community.

Project Coordinator role:

The Project Coordinator will work with CCC to support the delivery of the 2025 Cruinniú na nÓg Carlow programme between March 3rd – June 27th, 2025.

The Project Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day management of Cruinniú na nÓg Carlow and coordinate the delivery and progression of the project whilst managing agreed administrative tasks.

Terms

The position is open to an experienced project manager/coordinator working on a self-employed basis. Current Tax clearance certificate must be provided.

Role

  • Devise and deliver a project management methodology in line with agreed aims and objectives directed by CCC.
  • Initiate, build and maintain relationships with relevant groups and organisations
  • Implement the monitoring and evaluation process.
  • Key responsibilities/duties
    • Undertake project administration.
    • Liaise with and coordinate project timeline and timetable.
  • Programme design, PR and print media
  • Liaison with photography/videography/design etc.
  • On the 7th  of June Cruinniú na nÓg day, work on the ground to ensure successful delivery of the events.
  • Following the event, support feedback and evaluation.
  • Utilise best practice in delivering quality of experiences and value for money.
  • Operate under the guidance of the CCC Arts Office to inform best practice.

 

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

Required skills and experience:

• Proven capacity to work with others, specifically CCC and partner Organisations.

• Ability to build and manage relationships with relevant external personnel and organisations.

• Proven track record in project management.

• Ability to work within the agreed timeframe efficiently and effectively.

• Demonstrated evidence of excellent organizational and administrative skills.

• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.

• Proven ability to work flexibly both independently and as part of a team.

• Knowledge and experience of working with arts practitioners.

• Knowledge and experience of working in the community and with community groups and the significance of inclusion and access.

• Highly motivated with good time management and ability to work to tight deadlines.

 

Desirable

• Qualification in Arts administration and / or experience of working in this field.

Essential Knowledge:

1. Supporting the work of children and youth organizations.

2. Clear understanding of social inclusion.

3. Knowledge and awareness of a diverse range of art forms/media.

  • Own transport necessary

• Proposal outlining your suitability and relevant experience for the role (Word count 500 max)

• CV.

• Evidence of previous expertise in this field. Information and documentation relating to two preceding projects you believe to be particularly relevant to this project.

The person appointed will report to the Arts Office of CCC.

Insurance and Tax: The successful applicant will be responsible for all taxes which arise from any payment by CCC of the agreed fee including and without prejudice the generality of this provision, all income tax and VAT.  Current Tax Clearance Certificate will be required.

The budget for this work will be €4,950 (inclusive of VAT and all expenses).
