Culture Night / Oíche Chultúir is a national moment, celebrating all that makes up the richness and diversity of Culture in Ireland today, connecting people to cultural activities locally and nationally and aims to open up pathways to ongoing engagement.
An annual, all-island public event which takes place each year on the second last Friday of September, Culture Night / Oíche Chultúir celebrates culture, creativity and the arts and seeks to actively promote the belief that this rich and varied culture is alive, treasured and nurtured in people’s lives, today and every day.
Culture Night / Oíche Chultúir is brought to you by the Arts Council in partnership with and led by Carlow County Council Arts Service.
Carlow Call for Expression of Interest
We invite individuals and organisations to submit proposals for Culture Night 2026.
Proposals can include ANY and ALL creative activities, performances, readings, workshops, interactive installations, etc. taking place for free from 4pm til late.
The value of funding available per proposal is up to €1,500*.
Quality, mix of artforms, uniqueness and geographical spread across Co. Carlow will be considered when proposals are assessed.
*Funding is limited and it may not be possible to offer funding to all applicants. If your proposal is in excess of the funding available from Carlow Arts Office, proof of other sources of income must be submitted with the application.
Thanks to the continued support of the Arts Council of Ireland and Carlow County Council, all activities must be made available to the public free of charge.
Who can apply?
- Individual Artist, Musicians and Creatives
- Organisations, Community Centres, Older Persons Groups (Community Groups, Youth Work Groups, Sports Groups, Neighbourhood Groups, Creative, Cultural, etc.)
- Creative Collectives
- Creative Enterprises who engage with communities
Please note:
1. If you are bringing in an artist to work with you on this project or to engage with the community you represent you are responsible for paying the artist and including their fee in your budget outline.
2. You are responsible for securing your venues and covering all rental costs associated. (Carlow County Council Arts Service is not)
3. You are responsible for providing information to the Arts Service to be included in the brochure. It is your responsibility to ensure all information you provide is up to date and correct including but not limited to, venue time and event details. We will email you the date deadlines and it is your responsibility to meet those dates.
