Arts Act Grant 2026

Application Form for Community Groups and Arts Organisations

Purpose

Carlow County Council offers grants to community groups and arts organisations based in or working in Carlow. These grants support creative projects that benefit local communities.

Key Information             

• Maximum grant: €3,000 per organisation.
• Eligible costs: artist fees, materials, space hire, studio hire, admin, travel, publicity, collaborator fees, publishing.
• Not eligible: festivals, events, capital costs, equipment purchases, living expenses.
• We fund up to 70% of your total budget. You must show 30% self-generated income (cash or benefit-in-kind).
• Include artist fees in your budget (national Pay the Artist policy).

How to Apply

• Complete all sections of the online application form.
• Attach a detailed budget with supporting documents and images.
• Ensure all links and files work before submission.
• Submit before the deadline, we will not accept late or incomplete applications.
• Projects cannot start before funding has been confirmed.[PN1] 

Eligibility and Conditions

• Priority will be given to new applicants.
• Groups must be formally constituted (e.g., hold AGMs).
• You must submit invoices, receipts, and photos after project completion.
• Only one application per organisation will be accepted.
• Only arts organisations and voluntary community groups may apply. Festivals and events are not eligible.
• Applicants are responsible for insurance, safety plans and child protection measures (where relevant).

Additional Notes

• Applications will be reviewed by an independent panel on a competitive basis.
• Arts Office staff cannot discuss applications after the closing date.
• You will be notified by mid-March 2026.
• Successful applicants must acknowledge Carlow County Council in all promotional material.

Closing Date

13^th of February 2026 at 12:00 noon
Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
