Carlow Live and Local is an initiative of Carlow County Council Arts Service and grew from the national Live and Local Performance Scheme that local authorities managed during the pandemic. 2025 sees the return of Carlow Live and Local and the return of the initiative being managed through the Carlow County Council Arts Service. Carlow Live and Local since its inception has showcased Carlow Musicians and seen wonderful local raw talent flourish and nurtured with the voice of the community and local musicians at its core.

Carlow Live and Local will host a number of events throughout the year, providing performance opportunities across a number of genres for Carlow musicians.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS OPEN CALL IS FOR COUNTY CARLOW BASED MUSICIANS ONLY* (You have to live currently in Carlow or be from Carlow)

APPLICATIONS ARE OPEN TO OVER 18'S ONLY

Live & Local is a platform for the most exciting music from across County Carlow.

Talented musicians can now apply to perform via this Open Call.

From original singer-songwriters, to trad collectives, to community choirs, folk musicians, hip hop groups, rock bands and everything in between; there’s no limit to the type of live act we are open to presenting.

Your work should be of a good performance standard.

Preference will be given to artists with original music.

Representation and inclusion are important to us, and we actively encourage applications from people who reflect the diversity of our county.
